March 2011

Elle a teacher? YES!

I taught a class on Wednesday, March 23rd on how to create a bezel around a stone. Using square, and half-round wire, you'll make a pendant that is secure, beautiful, and unique. I am not certain when I will return, but as soon as I know, "web guy" will put it here. You can also check out Dancing Beads or go directly to the class page here.

Jacksonville Celebrates the Arts

Over the Labor Day weekend (09/04, through the 09/06) Friday, Saturday and Sunday we were at the "Jacksonville Celebrates the Arts" show in Jacksonville, Oregon on the Jacksonville Museum grounds.

It was an outdoor event and we had perfect weather. There were many great artisans and crafts to see and buy. We had a great time and unwound in the evening at one of the local establishments and talked about the fun we had.

McKEE BRIDGE TOUR

9045 Upper Applegate Rd. Jacksonville, Oregon 97530

It was the 92nd birthday of McKee Bridge. There were horse shoe tournaments, bingo, venders, a BBQ lunch by the Applegate Lions, a cribbage tournament, train rides, bake sales, craft vendors, a raffle, a history exhibit about early day hard rock mining in the upper Applegate, displays of interesting stones, music, and much more.

Everyone enjoyed a relaxing Saturday - until the rain and thunder rolled in about an hour before closing. This took place near the small town of Ruch, Oregon in the Applegate Valley with the Applegate Dam nearby which created a lovely park, campsite and lake.
